Different drum teachers teach in different ways. I’ve always thought of myself more as a community builder who uses drums as a way to bring people together, give them a common experience, and leave them to make their own connections.

Music is a magnet. Once you’ve drawn people to you you can then deliver more complex messages. Some people of course will just want to come and dance, but next time they more they may be more intrigued by what you have to say.
